WTF Is Happeninging to Hip-Hop?

Serious folks, what the hell is happening to rap music?
Rap was built on the foundation of social anarchy; screw the system, fuck the man, that kind of shit. It became a mainstream vessel of deliverence for big rap artist to voice their beliefs, ideals and opinions through creative lyricsm. This concept was brought to life by true 'raptivists' like Tupac, Public Enemy, Notorious B.I.G., R.A. The Rugged Man, all the greats ones (most of whom have been shot). Now it's a clusterfuck of auto-tuned, untalented sell-outs with now originality or creativity.

What Rap Music use to be...

What Rap music is now...

Have a look at the video below. If this is considered "art", than I, as of now, have very little faith in the rap indusrty.
Lil B - Ellen Degeneres

See what I mean? This "artist" is genuinly undeserving of the popularity and four million plus fews this video has procured. "Ellen Degeneres, Swag"? WTF does that even mean?
However, there is still a vivid light at the end of the G-Tunnel. Not every rap artist suckles the power-teat at the sight of a potential album.

Listen to lyrics of this next artist. I may be old fashioned in the sense that i prefer rap music that is poetic and subliminally wise, but that doesn't mean I refuse to move with the times.
Hopsin - Ill Mind of Hop

Hopsin is resurrecting a style of Rap that has been long thought of as dead.
My respect for this artist comes from, not his ability to write an exceptional piece of well thought music, but that he has openly discovered where the line should be drawn, and crosses it intentionally.

Stay tuned  for the next post.

MC-Anthony out.
